truffles and root beer

This afternoon rather than do more outdoor work, I decided to stay in the kitchen and make something tasty for Jean. As I know she likes truffles, I decided to make those, but rather than do so unaided, I got a glass of our home made root beer. I discovered why you need to start it to fermenting, and then put it in the fridge right after too. It adds the bite like carbonation, but without the carbonic acid. Last, as I did not really feel inclined to let the cat in the kitchen while I was working with melted chocolate, I got Ertha Kit playing to listen to as I worked.

Freezer Cooking – Before

So in prep of the freezer cooking session, I picked up about 60 pounds of meat (45lbs chicken, 8lbs pork, 9lbs beef) in addition to some other warehouse store items.

I’d just cleaned out all the leftovers, so it wasn’t too hard to find room for everything — but it did take some creative arranging. My friend brought lots of the other ingredients that I couldn’t get at Costco. And there were lots of stuff on top of the fridge and the counters too. 🙂
